The Lord’s Prayer (Our Father) – from the Gospel of Matthew and Gospel of Luke

The Lord’s Prayer, also known as the Our Father, is a prayer in which according to the Holy Bible, Jesus Christ taught as the way to pray to Yahweh. It is recorded in the Bible in the Gospel of Matthew and another version, in the Gospel of Luke.

Gospel of Matthew Version

MT 6:9-13

“Pray like this: ‘Our Father in heaven, may your name be kept holy.

Let your Kingdom come. Let your will be done on earth as it is in heaven.

Give us today our daily bread.

Forgive us our debts, as we also forgive our debtors.

Bring us not into temptation, but deliver us from the evil one. For yours is the Kingdom, the power,
and the glory forever. Amen.’_”

Gospel of Luke Version

LK 11:2-4

He said to them, “When you pray, say, ‘Our Father in heaven, may your name be kept holy. May your Kingdom come. May your will be done on earth, as it is in heaven.

Give us day by day our daily bread.

Forgive us our sins, for we ourselves also forgive everyone who is indebted to us. Bring us not into temptation, but deliver us from the evil one.’_”
