Daily Gospel Reading for October 31, 2022 – Monday in the Thirty-First Week of Ordinary Time Bible Verse

The 31st of October, 2022 is Monday in the Thirty-First Week of Ordinary Time. The Holy Bible verses for the mass readings for this day came from the Liturgical Calendar of the Year 2022.

Reading 1: PHIL 2:1-4

The first reading from the Letter of Saint Paul to the Philippians.

If therefore there is any exhortation in Christ, if any consolation of love, if any fellowship of the Spirit, if any tender mercies and compassion, make my joy full by being like-minded, having the same love, being of one accord, of one mind; doing nothing through rivalry or through conceit, but in humility, each counting others better than himself; each of you not just looking to his own things, but each of you also to the things of others.

Responsorial Psalm: PS 131:1, 2, 3

Response: In you, O Lord, I have found my peace.

Yahweh, my heart isn’t arrogant, nor my eyes lofty; nor do I concern myself with great matters, or things too wonderful for me.

R: In you, O Lord, I have found my peace.

Surely I have stilled and quieted my soul, like a weaned child with his mother, like a weaned child is my soul within me.

R: In you, O Lord, I have found my peace.

Israel, hope in Yahweh, from this time forward and forever more.

R: In you, O Lord, I have found my peace.

Gospel of the Day: LK 14:12-14

From the gospel scripture according to Luke.

He also said to the one who had invited him, “When you make a dinner or a supper, don’t call your friends, nor your brothers, nor your kinsmen, nor rich neighbors, or perhaps they might also return the favor, and pay you back.

But when you make a feast, ask the poor, the maimed, the lame, or the blind; and you will be blessed, because they don’t have the resources to repay you. For you will be repaid in the resurrection of the righteous.”
