Daily Gospel Reading for May 10, 2022 – Tuesday in the Fourth Week of Easter Bible Verse

The 10th of May, 2022 is Tuesday in the Fourth Week of Easter. The Bible scriptures for the holy mass readings for this day came from the Year 2022 of Liturgical Calendar.

Reading 1: ACTS 11:19-26

The first reading from the Acts of the Apostles.

They therefore who were scattered abroad by the oppression that arose about Stephen traveled as far as Phoenicia, Cyprus, and Antioch, speaking the word to no one except to Jews only.

But there were some of them, men of Cyprus and Cyrene, who, when they had come to Antioch, spoke to the Hellenists, preaching the Lord Jesus.

The hand of the Lord was with them, and a great number believed and turned to the Lord.

The report concerning them came to the ears of the assembly which was in Jerusalem. They sent out Barnabas to go as far as Antioch, who, when he had come, and had seen the grace of God, was glad. He exhorted them all, that with purpose of heart they should remain near to the Lord.

For he was a good man, and full of the Holy Spirit and of faith, and many people were added to the Lord.

Barnabas went out to Tarsus to look for Saul.

When he had found him, he brought him to Antioch. For a whole year they were gathered together with the assembly, and taught many people. The disciples were first called Christians in Antioch.

Responsorial Psalm: PS 87:1-3, 4-5, 6-7

Response: Praise Yahweh, all you nations! Extol him, all you peoples!

His foundation is in the holy mountains.

Yahweh loves the gates of Zion more than all the dwellings of Jacob.

Glorious things are spoken about you, city of God.

R: Praise Yahweh, all you nations! Extol him, all you peoples!

I will record Rahab and Babylon among those who acknowledge me. Behold, Philistia, Tyre, and also Ethiopia: “This one was born there.”

Yes, of Zion it will be said, “This one and that one was born in her;” the Most High himself will establish her.

R: Praise Yahweh, all you nations! Extol him, all you peoples!

Yahweh will count, when he writes up the peoples, “This one was born there.”

Those who sing as well as those who dance say, “All my springs are in you.”

R: Praise Yahweh, all you nations! Extol him, all you peoples!

Gospel of the Day: JN 10:22-30

From the gospel verse according to John.

It was the Feast of the Dedication at Jerusalem.

It was winter, and Jesus was walking in the temple, in Solomon’s porch.

The Jews therefore came around him and said to him, “How long will you hold us in suspense? If you are the Christ, tell us plainly.”

Jesus answered them, “I told you, and you don’t believe. The works that I do in my Father’s name, these testify about me.

But you don’t believe, because you are not of my sheep, as I told you.

My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me.

I give eternal life to them. They will never perish, and no one will snatch them out of my hand.

My Father who has given them to me is greater than all. No one is able to snatch them out of my Father’s hand.

I and the Father are one.”

Other Celebration

An optional celebration on this day is the Memorial of Saint John of Avila, Priest and Doctor of the Church as well as Saint Damien de Veuster, Priest.
