Daily Gospel Reading for December 3, 2021, Friday – Memorial of Saint Francis Xavier, Priest Bible Verse

The 3rd of December, 2021, Friday is the Memorial of Saint Francis Xavier, Priest. The Holy Bible verses for the mass readings for this day came from the Liturgical Calendar of the Year 2022.

Reading 1: IS 29:17-24

The first reading from the Book of Isaiah.

Isn’t it yet a very little while, and Lebanon will be turned into a fruitful field, and the fruitful field will be regarded as a forest?

In that day, the deaf will hear the words of the book, and the eyes of the blind will see out of obscurity and out of darkness.

The humble also will increase their joy in Yahweh, and the poor among men will rejoice in the Holy One of Israel.

For the ruthless is brought to nothing, and the scoffer ceases, and all those who are alert to do evil are cut off-who cause a person to be indicted by a word, and lay a snare for one who reproves in the gate, and who deprive the innocent of justice with false testimony.

Therefore Yahweh, who redeemed Abraham, says concerning the house of Jacob: “Jacob shall no longer be ashamed, neither shall his face grow pale.

But when he sees his children, the work of my hands, in the middle of him, they will sanctify my name. Yes, they will sanctify the Holy One of Jacob, and will stand in awe of the God of Israel.

They also who err in spirit will come to understanding, and those who grumble will receive instruction.”

Responsorial Psalm: PS 27:1, 4, 13-14

Response: Yahweh is my light and my salvation.

Yahweh is my light and my salvation. Whom shall I fear? Yahweh is the strength of my life. Of whom shall I be afraid?

R: Yahweh is my light and my salvation.

One thing I have asked of Yahweh, that I will seek after: that I may dwell in Yahweh’s house all the days of my life, to see Yahweh’s beauty, and to inquire in his temple.

R: Yahweh is my light and my salvation.

I am still confident of this: I will see the goodness of Yahweh in the land of the living.

Wait for Yahweh. Be strong, and let your heart take courage. Yes, wait for Yahweh.

R: Yahweh is my light and my salvation.

Gospel of the Day: MT 9:27-31

From the gospel scripture according to Matthew.

As Jesus passed by from there, two blind men followed him, calling out and saying, “Have mercy on us, son of David!”

When he had come into the house, the blind men came to him. Jesus said to them, “Do you believe that I am able to do this?” They told him, “Yes, Lord.”

Then he touched their eyes, saying, “According to your faith be it done to you.”

Then their eyes were opened. Jesus strictly commanded them, saying, “See that no one knows about this.”

But they went out and spread abroad his fame in all that land.
