The 26th of October, 2021 is Tuesday in the Thirtieth Week of Ordinary Time. The Holy Bible verses for the mass readings for this day came from the Liturgical Calendar Year 2021.
Reading 1: ROM 8:18-25
The first reading from the Letter of Saint Paul to the Romans.
For I consider that the sufferings of this present time are not worthy to be compared with the glory which will be revealed toward us.
For the creation waits with eager expectation for the children of God to be revealed.
For the creation was subjected to vanity, not of its own will, but because of him who subjected it, in hope that the creation itself also will be delivered from the bondage of decay into the liberty of the glory of the children of God.
For we know that the whole creation groans and travails in pain together until now.
Not only so, but ourselves also, who have the first fruits of the Spirit, even we ourselves groan within ourselves, waiting for adoption, the redemption of our body.
For we were saved in hope, but hope that is seen is not hope. For who hopes for that which he sees?
But if we hope for that which we don’t see, we wait for it with patience.
Responsorial Psalm: PS 126:1-2AB, 2CD-3, 4-5, 6
Response: Yahweh has done great things for us.
When Yahweh brought back those who returned to Zion, we were like those who dream.
Then our mouth was filled with laughter, and our tongue with singing.
R: Yahweh has done great things for us.
Then they said among the nations, “Yahweh has done great things for them.”
Yahweh has done great things for us, and we are glad.
R: Yahweh has done great things for us.
Restore our fortunes again, Yahweh, like the streams in the Negev.
Those who sow in tears will reap in joy.
R: Yahweh has done great things for us.
He who goes out weeping, carrying seed for sowing, will certainly come again with joy, carrying his sheaves.
R: Yahweh has done great things for us.
Gospel of the Day: LK 13:18-21
From the gospel scripture according to Luke.
He said, “What is God’s Kingdom like? To what shall I compare it?
It is like a grain of mustard seed which a man took and put in his own garden. It grew and became a large tree, and the birds of the sky live in its branches.”
Again he said, “To what shall I compare God’s Kingdom?
It is like yeast, which a woman took and hid in three measures of flour, until it was all leavened.”
