Daily Gospel Reading for July 11, 2021 – Fifteenth Sunday of Ordinary Time Bible Verse

The 11th of July, 2021 is Fifteenth Sunday of Ordinary Time. The Holy Bible verses for the mass readings for this day came from the Liturgical Calendar Year 2021.

Reading 1: AM 7:12-15

The first reading from the Book of Amos.

Amaziah also said to Amos, “You seer, go, flee away into the land of Judah, and there eat bread, and prophesy there, but don’t prophesy again any more at Bethel; for it is the king’s sanctuary, and it is a royal house!”

Then Amos answered Amaziah, “I was no prophet, neither was I a prophet’s son, but I was a herdsman, and a farmer of sycamore figs; and Yahweh took me from following the flock, and Yahweh said to me, ‘Go, prophesy to my people Israel.’_”

Responsorial Psalm: PS 85:8-9, 10-11, 12-13

Response: Show us your loving kindness, Yahweh. Grant us your salvation.

I will hear what God, Yahweh, will speak, for he will speak peace to his people, his saints; but let them not turn again to folly.

Surely his salvation is near those who fear him, that glory may dwell in our land.

R: Show us your loving kindness, Yahweh. Grant us your salvation.

Mercy and truth meet together. Righteousness and peace have kissed each other.

Truth springs out of the earth. Righteousness has looked down from heaven.

R: Show us your loving kindness, Yahweh. Grant us your salvation.

Yes, Yahweh will give that which is good. Our land will yield its increase.

Righteousness goes before him, And prepares the way for his steps.

R: Show us your loving kindness, Yahweh. Grant us your salvation.

Reading 2: EPH 1:3-14 or EPH 1:3-10

The second reading from the Letter of Saint Paul to the Ephesians.

Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly places in Christ, even as he chose us in him before the foundation of the world, that we would be holy and without defect before him in love, having predestined us for adoption as children through Jesus Christ to himself, according to the good pleasure of his desire, to the praise of the glory of his grace, by which he freely gave us favor in the Beloved.

In him we have our redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of our trespasses, according to the riches of his grace which he made to abound toward us in all wisdom and prudence, making known to us the mystery of his will, according to his good pleasure which he purposed in him to an administration of the fullness of the times, to sum up all things in Christ, the things in the heavens and the things on the earth, in him.

We were also assigned an inheritance in him, having been foreordained according to the purpose of him who does all things after the counsel of his will, to the end that we should be to the praise of his glory, we who had before hoped in Christ.

In him you also, having heard the word of the truth, the Good News of your salvation-in whom, having also believed, you were sealed with the promised Holy Spirit, who is a pledge of our inheritance, to the redemption of God’s own possession, to the praise of his glory.

Gospel of the Day: MK 6:7-13

From the gospel scripture according to Mark.

He called to himself the twelve, and began to send them out two by two; and he gave them authority over the unclean spirits.

He commanded them that they should take nothing for their journey, except a staff only: no bread, no wallet, no money in their purse, but to wear sandals, and not put on two tunics.

He said to them, “Wherever you enter into a house, stay there until you depart from there.

Whoever will not receive you nor hear you, as you depart from there, shake off the dust that is under your feet for a testimony against them. Assuredly, I tell you, it will be more tolerable for Sodom and Gomorrah in the day of judgment than for that city!”

They went out and preached that people should repent.

They cast out many demons, and anointed many with oil who were sick and healed them.
