Daily Gospel Reading for March 15, 2021 – Monday in the Fourth Week of Lent Bible Verse

The 15th of March, 2021 is Monday in the Fourth Week of Lent. The Bible scriptures for the holy mass readings for this day came from the Year 2021 of Liturgical Calendar.

Reading 1: IS 65:17-21

The first reading from the Book of Isaiah.

“For, behold, I create new heavens and a new earth; and the former things will not be remembered, nor come into mind.

But be glad and rejoice forever in that which I create; for, behold, I create Jerusalem to be a delight, and her people a joy.

I will rejoice in Jerusalem, and delight in my people; and the voice of weeping and the voice of crying will be heard in her no more.”

“No more will there be an infant who only lives a few days, nor an old man who has not filled his days; for the child will die one hundred years old, and the sinner being one hundred years old will be accursed.

They will build houses and inhabit them. They will plant vineyards and eat their fruit.”

Responsorial Psalm: PS 30:1 and 3, 4-5, 10-11A and 12B

Response: I will extol you, Yahweh, for you have raised me up.

I will extol you, Yahweh, for you have raised me up, and have not made my foes to rejoice over me.

Yahweh, you have brought up my soul from Sheol. You have kept me alive, that I should not go down to the pit.

R: I will extol you, Yahweh, for you have raised me up.

Sing praise to Yahweh, you saints of his. Give thanks to his holy name.

For his anger is but for a moment. His favor is for a lifetime. Weeping may stay for the night, but joy comes in the morning.

R: I will extol you, Yahweh, for you have raised me up.

“Hear, Yahweh, and have mercy on me. Yahweh, be my helper.”

You have turned my mourning into dancing for me.

Yahweh my God, I will give thanks to you forever!

R: I will extol you, Yahweh, for you have raised me up.

Verse Before Gospel: AM 5:14

From the Book of Amos.

“Seek good, and not evil, that you may live; and so Yahweh, the God of Armies, will be with you, as you say.”

Gospel of the Day: JN 4:43-54

From the gospel scripture according to John.

After the two days he went out from there and went into Galilee.

For Jesus himself testified that a prophet has no honor in his own country.

So when he came into Galilee, the Galileans received him, having seen all the things that he did in Jerusalem at the feast, for they also went to the feast.

Jesus came therefore again to Cana of Galilee, where he made the water into wine. There was a certain nobleman whose son was sick at Capernaum.

When he heard that Jesus had come out of Judea into Galilee, he went to him and begged him that he would come down and heal his son, for he was at the point of death.

Jesus therefore said to him, “Unless you see signs and wonders, you will in no way believe.”

The nobleman said to him, “Sir, come down before my child dies.”

Jesus said to him, “Go your way. Your son lives.” The man believed the word that Jesus spoke to him, and he went his way.

As he was going down, his servants met him and reported, saying “Your child lives!”

So he inquired of them the hour when he began to get better. They said therefore to him, “Yesterday at the seventh hour, the fever left him.”

So the father knew that it was at that hour in which Jesus said to him, “Your son lives.” He believed, as did his whole house.

This is again the second sign that Jesus did, having come out of Judea into Galilee.
